The development of digital technology has increased the use of gadgets in elementary school children, often exceeding safe limits so that it has the potential to disrupt sleep patterns through exposure to blue light that inhibits melatonin. The purpose of this study is to see the relationship between the duration of gadget use and sleep pattern disorders in school-age children. The method in this study uses a cross-sectional design. The research population of students in grades 5-6 at SDN Tempurejo 01 Jember with a sample of 72 respondents used total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire on the duration of use of Gadgets adapted from the Adolescent Sendentary Questionnaire (ASAQ) and a questionnaire on sleep disorders adapted from SDKI. The analysis uses frequency distribution, cross-tabulation. Respondents with a total of 14 children (19.4%) used excessive gadgets all experienced sleep pattern disturbances while 58 children with normal use had sleep disturbances due to other factors. The Chi-Square test showed (p = 0.010) that it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the duration of excessive use of gadgets and sleep pattern disorders in elementary school-age children. Excessive use of gadgets causes exposure to luminous screens that can interfere with melatonin production, causing disturbances in children's sleep patterns.
